“Who let the Lions out?”

The Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi County, is the only city with a National Park globally. But while the country boasts of this, there there is the other side that few know and that the residents are contending

with at the moment. Located in the city, the park attracts several tourists and revenue for the city’s management but at the same time pose a challenge to human life.

The park has been in the limelight for the past few days and weeks over stray lions that have been roaming the city. It is barely a fortnight when six lions escaped the park and yet again, a lion recently escaped from the park and mauled a man along Mombasa road in Nairobi. The latest incident bring forth the act of big cats straying into the bustling Kenyan capital.

In accordance to the Kenya Wildlife Service(KWS), the man is undergoing treatment at one of the hospitals in town. The KWS has stated that the government’s move to construct a highway through a section of the park, has agitated the animals with constant noise; thereby the reason why the animals have been moving outside the park.
